They are men who seek not glory but victory
Presentation on the Sword: The Holy Order

Those of us who love and revere the Sword have resolved to establish amongst ourselves a Holy Order of Sons of God consecrated to the Sword and to knighthood and to standing with the angels and Archangels for victory. We’ve determined that the legacy of the Sword will endure. We hope that those of you whose souls thrill to the calling of the Sword may be brought into this Order. And so we contemplate the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar was a mystical order of knights during the Crusades. They were knights who took vows as monks, so they were warrior priests. They were considered to be the epitome of Christian knighthood.

Saint Bernard described the Knights Templar as follows: “They are men who seek not glory but victory. Meeker than lambs and fiercer than lions, at once monks and knights, they vigilantly and faithfully guard the Holy Sepulcher.”

This is such a beautiful juxtaposition of words. Men who seek not glory but victory – not glory for the self or renown or acclaim but victory. And yet the battle cry of the Knights Templar was, “Be Glorious.” We sense that they had the same understanding that we have when we give the I AM Lords’ Prayer and we say, “I AM the glory of God in eternal immortal manifestation”. You are the glory of God in eternal immortal manifestation. You have a right to be glorious in God and to stand in that glory.

Meeker than lambs and fiercer than lions – that meekness is the humility. I tell you before God and this company that the most humbling experience I know is to take up this sword at this altar. I feel the sheer magnitude of the fire of holiness in this place. And to stand in any sense of showing off would be utter blasphemy. And yet these men are fiercer than lions. They have the fierceness and the fire of the Archangels and this implacable drive for victory.

What we would have then is an order of sons of God who take up the sword to stand as fire, wielding fire, on behalf of fire – sons of God who are humble yet fierce, but whose fierceness is devoid of arrogance. Sons of God consecrated in the core of their beings, to the fire and the holiness and the honor of God, and who will take up the sword of the Archangels centered in Peace. But what is peace?
